Welcome to Rideau Lakes Skating Club! We are a sanctioned member of Skate Canada. We provide professional skating instruction for the members of the community and surrounding area. We provide our community with a fun, friendly, welcoming and safe environment where they can develop their interest in the sport of skating.
The Rideau Lakes Figure Skating Club is a long-standing club in the community of Smiths Falls with over 60 years of history. The club has produced many high level figure skaters including Olympian Jeff Langdon, and was also the starting point for several high level hockey players who went on to play in the NHL, OHL, University, Junior A hockey.
We are a small club of approximately 100 members, sanctioned by Skate Canada and operating under the banner of the Eastern Ontario Section.
Our mission is to provide skating programs for skaters, aged three and over, to participate in for fun, fitness, interest and / or achievement.
Rideau Lakes Skating Club offers a variety of Programs, catering to a wide range of ages and skill levels. There are the PreCanSkate and CanSkate Programs, for those who are just learning to skate, and STARSkate, for those who wish to continue on to pursue higher levels of figure skating instruction.
All of our programs are instructed by Professional Coaches, who hold certification through Skate Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
Rideau Lakes Skating Club’s season runs from early September through to end of March, culminating in the Club’s year-end showcase.
We welcome new members and guest skaters.
